The story behind HBVA

A lady sat at a desk writing notes in a notebook.

I wanted a career with purpose.

Using my business experience and admin skills to support other business owners felt like the perfect fit, so I launched HollyBirdVA as a solo venture. What followed was a journey of growth and discovery, and learning what I truly thrive on.

As HBVA grew and I welcomed more clients, I realised something important. While I am highly capable with admin systems and structure, what I truly love is connecting with people.

Networking. Building relationships. Generating ideas. Spotting opportunities. Helping businesses grow.

Sitting behind a laptop all day completing tasks was not where my energy was best spent.

At the same time, I was building strong relationships within the virtual assistant community. I met incredibly talented VAs who were passionate about their work but often hesitant about marketing or networking. I was also receiving enquiries for services I did not personally offer.

And then the lightbulb moment came.

A group of four women stand in a circle talking with each other.

What if I could bring these two worlds together?

That is when HollyBirdVA evolved into an agency model, connecting talented, service focused virtual assistants with business owners who need reliable, professional support.

The team behind HBVA is made up of experienced and capable women who each bring their own strengths to the work we do, supporting individuals and businesses across the UK.

I still work closely with certain projects and clients that I really enjoy, but I am now supported by a trusted team of skilled VAs who bring depth and expertise to everything we do.

Together, we ensure every client receives thoughtful, reliable support that truly makes a difference, with clear pricing and package options designed to suit different businesses and stages of growth.

More About Me

Like most women, I wear many hats.

I am a mum to two wonderful children and we live on the edge of the picturesque town of Malmesbury in North Wiltshire.

I also run another business, Birddog Catwalk, providing professional dog walking and in-home pet sitting services across Wiltshire, Bristol, Bath and beyond. Running my own service based business gives me first hand insight into marketing, client management, systems and growth.

That experience feeds directly into how I support HBVA clients.

Outside of business, I have a passion for partner dancing and regularly attend Ceroc modern jive classes and events. I love spending time with friends, I am slowly developing my gardening instincts, and I take my tea black.

I have worked as a PA for a professional individual, supporting personal finance management, organisation of office systems and documents, and property administration.

I spent four years as a small business manager, overseeing customer service, staff recruitment and management, payroll, pensions, bookkeeping, purchase orders, utilities and the day to day operational running of a growing business. In this role I also planned and hosted author and speaking events.

Over the years, I have run family church services, managed weddings, hosted large events and provided freelance copywriting, proofreading and editing services to publishers and individuals.

This diverse background means I understand business from multiple angles, including operations, people, marketing and logistics, and allows me to support clients with both structure and strategy. I also provide support for clients accessing funding through the Access to Work scheme, helping ensure they receive the practical assistance they are entitled to.
